军装警员张全直(黄日华)一次意外将关帝像下压着的清朝鬼阿贵放走，阎王准许阿贵暂借警察毛勇桂(罗清浩)的身体来做足一百件好事才让其轮回。其间，直与其女友凌巧儿(关咏荷)发生很多误会，直既失意于爱情，惟寄情于工作，得桂之助，破获大案，并凌巧儿修好。桂在轮回前要回清朝解决未了事，并透过时空交错重回清朝，但阴差阳错，最终.........。Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。
